Electronic publishing in science is currently a hot spot. We need to assess in detail potential advantages and disadvantages, including the question: can e-publishing guarantee lasting safety of published information?

 

Hopefully, the MEPS editorial "Electronic publishing in science: changes and risks" (O. Kinne, MEPS Vol. 180, p 1-3) will assist in getting the discussion started. For convenience we present the text again below.
