Article corrections

Article correction policy

If significant errors are found in an article after publication, Inter-Research can replace the online PDF with an amended version bearing a brief description of the change(s), and where appropriate, a link to a Correction page with its own DOI that gives a detailed list of changes. The update is registered with Crossmark to provide transparency of versions.

Article correction procedure

Authors can notify Inter-Research of the correction by completing the post-publication Article Correction Request form below or by emailing correction (please read the rest of this procedure first).

In addition to a description of the error, please also supply a clean PDF of the article with the correction marked up in it (i.e. please do not use the proof received during production) and/or any other necessary files.

As part of our on-going quality improvement procedures, we usually try to track back the source of the error. If the error existed in the files provided to us for production by authors (the type of error formerly called a Corrigendum), we reserve the right to charge an administrative fee of €50 to €100 for the correction process. Any charges to be levied will be advised to the author for confirmation before work is begun.

In the updated article PDF, a ‘stamp’ or footnote is placed on the title page to inform the reader that the PDF has been corrected since publication, with the date of correction. Except in rare cases where the correction can be explained in the stamp, there is also a URL linked to a Correction page with details of the correction. The Correction page is also linked from the article web abstract page.

Once the correction is approved by the Editor, we send corrected files (Article PDF and text of Correction page) to the author for confirmation before upload.

A new author copy of the published PDF will be sent once corrections are online, the Correction page will be registered with its own DOI, and the corrected PDF is registered with Crossmark tracking.
