An annual subscription purchases access to the new subscriber content scheduled for publication in that subscription year. Access to the new subscriber content of that subscription year is secured forward until the 3rd quarter of the 5th year of publication when the subscriber content is released from behind the subscription barrier to become freely accessible to all users. In that way, access to purchased subscriber content is permanent.
A new annual subscription must be purchased in the following year for access to the following year's new subscriber content.
The annual subscription does not provide access to content belonging to the previous 4 years, unless that content was previously purchased.
